Explore Florida’s historic Virginia Key and its beauties—both under and over its blue waters. Start your adventure in the secluded mangrove-lined lagoon, home to manatees and a variety of tropical waterbirds. Slowly paddle along the periphery of the lagoon watching for green iguanas and the abundant wildlife hidden within the dense mangrove roots as you make your way to Norris Cut, your access to the Atlantic. Be on the lookout for the sea turtles that live in the shallow sea grass beds. Take in views of Fisher Island—home to the rich and famous—and, just beyond the island, the lively and colorful South Beach skyline.
Then beach your kayak and step into the blue shallow waters of Virginia Key. Snorkel along the rock jetties and sea grass beds as you hunt for colorful juvenile reef fish, snook, sea starfish, conchs, and much more. On this trip, you may get wet, so a change of clothes or bathing suit is recommended, as are flat shoes, sunscreen, sunglasses and hats. You must also wear a life jacket. The kayaks on this trip are double kayaks only.
Your $375 activity fee includes roundtrip transportation, kayak and snorkel equipment rental fees, 2.5-hour naturalist-guided tour, bottled water and applicable gratuities.
